{"id":5756,"date":"2020-07-05T11:50:55","date_gmt":"2020-07-05T07:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/me.cognita.network\/dovecote-v2\/?p=5756"},"modified":"2020-07-05T11:50:55","modified_gmt":"2020-07-05T07:50:55","slug":"repton-school-dubai-to-re-open-august-30th-2020","status":"publish","type":"school_news","link":"https:\/\/me.cognita.network\/dovecote-v2\/school-news\/repton-school-dubai-to-re-open-august-30th-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Repton School Dubai to Re-open \u2013 August 30th, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further to the official approval by the KHDA, we are delighted to confirm that Repton Dubai will start the academic year 2020-21, with all pupils returning to our fantastic campus, for the whole day, every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will be some modest adjustments to drop off and pick up times for some year groups, to \u2018stagger\u2019 the arrival of larger groups of pupils at busy times, but Repton Dubai is blessed with one of the largest campuses of any school in the GCC. Therefore we are confident that the health and safety of our pupils and our staff will not be compromised by enabling all pupils and all staff to return safely to school on 30th August, whilst still adhering to strict health and safety protocols, including social distancing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The safety and\nwellbeing of the whole community remains our top priority, but we also want to\nensure that continuity of learning is secured and that we do all we can to help\nour pupils thrive academically, socially and mentally. Pupil well-being is at\nthe forefront of our minds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please be in no doubt\nthat Repton will exceed the minimum health and safety requirements for schools,\nwhich were recently shared by the KHDA. These requirements include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"color: #5F7185\"><li>Strict drop off      and pick up arrangements, including taking the temperature for everyone      who enters the school <\/li><li>Maintaining      physical distance guidelines throughout the school day <\/li><li>Limiting the numbers of students in classrooms. <\/li><li>Identifying potential medium and higher risk activities, such as music and team sports, and ensuring that any resumption is gradual and subject to thorough risk assessment. <\/li><li>Sterilising and cleaning the school on a regular basis <\/li><li>Organising the students\u2019 day to avoid high concentrations of students in any one place <\/li><li>Limiting gatherings and suspending group activities such as assemblies, school trips, celebrations, sports events and student camps <\/li><li>Reducing the bus capacity to 30%; maintaining social distancing on buses; taking all passengers\u2019 temperatures on boarding <\/li><li>Ensuring that support &amp; maintenance service staff do not enter the school when students and staff are present <\/li><li>Appointing a trained health and safety official to ensure compliance <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are also reviewing some of the positive outcomes in teaching and learning from this intense period of distance learning; Repton intends to continue to provide a degree of distance learning in Term 1 in order to maintain continuity of learning and to protect the health of the most vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We look forward to\nwelcoming you to Repton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stay safe and we will\nsee you soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Further to the official approval by the KHDA, we are delighted to confirm that Repton Dubai will start the academic year 2020-21, with all pupils returning to our fantastic campus, for the whole day, every day.
